Mattresses and Marriage a Match Made in Heaven

Mattresses and marriage go hand in hand. Sleep is important to all of us, even the honeymooners. A good night sleep is critical for our performance the next day and for our health and well being in general. If the couple is not used to sleeping together, there will be just the issues of getting used to sleeping with someone. You dont need the extra strain and complications of a mattress that is uncomfortable for one or both parties. My comfort in bed may not be yours. I like a soft mattress even though I have a bad back. My husband likes something that is more firm. There are mattresses on the market that boast the capability of adjusting the firmness to each persons preference. That sounds great, but these mattresses arent inexpensive. In fact, most mattresses and box spring sets will set you back a few bills. In order for your chances of a better night sleep to be greater, I strongly advise for the new couple to pick out the mattress together instead of one person bringing a mattress into the marriage. That also feels better doesnt it? I dont like the idea of a used mattress coming into a marriage. This should be new just as the marriage is new. If the couple shops together for the new mattress set, there is a better chance they will find one that fits both their needs. Do the rest test in the store as most retailers wont let you take one home and then return it; they frown on that from a hygienic aspect.

The Better Sleep Council recommends six things you should consider before buying the mattress:
Support is critical as you should have a mattress that keeps your spine in a good standing posture.
Make sure the comfort level is such where you feel you can be close to each other without bothering one another.
You expect your mattress to last a long time as it is not an inexpensive purchase. Keep turning it, and vacuum it off occasionally. If you are concerned about dust mites, you may even want to encase it in plastic. Ask yourself in a few years if it is still supportive and comfortable to you. If not, you might want to opt for a new set.
Buy the right size. If you need space as we all do, opt for at least a queen size bed. King-size mattresses are unwieldy and will take up more space in a master bedroom, but you might require more room, especially if you and your mate are tall or heavy set.
Do buy a matching sleep set. These are made for each other and you wont get the wear from the mattress you desire if you dont match it up to the box spring.
Buy the best that you can afford. Now is not the time to skimp on a purchase because a cheap mattress will not be comfortable at all. It wont take you long in the rest test to tell the comfortable mattresses from the ones that feel like cardboard.

Mattresses and marriage are made to stay together. We spend so much of our life in bed that we need to have the most comfortable, supportive mattress on the market that we can afford. Isnt this like the partner you have chosen? They are supportive and comfortable to be with so mattresses and marriage can truly be a match made in heaven.

The Benefits of a Memory Foam Mattress

On the quest for a more productive day, research has shown that a more productive sleep at night can be one of the healthiest solutions. A Memory Foam Mattress could be just what researchers have been looking for. Concentration, Observation and even Creativity, are all qualities that can help us on our everyday journey through work, and life. The key is relaxation.

Any quality that enhances our daily productivity is welcome, but with a calm mind and rested body, do we find the most precious resources, that is, through our sleep. Sleep provides us with an infinite number of possibilities. Possibilities, which are most efficiently cultivated, while having deep restful dreams in a peaceful bed. And mattresses made from memory foam are ideal in this respect.

Ever since the invention of the first electroencephalogram, the machine that registers brain waves, back in the first part of the 20th century, scientists have known that sleep is not just an unproductive time in which we are forced to stop working. Wonderful things occur at night while we sleep.

During an average night of sleep of eight hours, our bodies move in and out of consciousness through cycles, determined by brain wave activity. If these cycles are disrupted by stressing muscles in certain points, the sleeper, could actually wake up without fulfilling the full sleep cycle. This means time and relaxation, are needed to achieve the proper depths of a good nights rest.

Suppose an average sleeper, gets eight hours of sleep, on a good mattress. Then she or he, would plunge into the realm of sleep for about 90min. then slowly come back out, and on return to the waking world, would have about 10 min. of dreams, almost wake up, roll over, and plunge back into another 90min. cycle. If the conditions are good, such as in using the proper kind of bed, the second sleep cycle will have something like 20-30min. of dreams, followed by 45-60min. in the third cycle. The longer we sleep, the more dreams we have.

Maybe, not everyone remembers what they dream, all the time, everyday, but that doesnt matter, as much as the fact that dreaming is, in and of itself the place where we let our worry and stress of the day to day go free, preparing, for the day to come. If we dont value our sleep enough, we carry all that stress and anxiety from the day before, into our morning, and consecutively throughout the day, until we finally sleep again, to give our dreams another chance at freeing themselves.

In a stressful modern day to day, race for time and money like ours, its a wonder why we dont value our sleep more. Sleep requires relaxation, and that means sleeping a good night's sleep. Pressure on muscles must be evenly distributed throughout the body in a way that keeps our bodies fully relaxed.

That means keeping the joints well accommodated. Memory foam does this in a very natural and relaxing way. When the body heat hits the mattress, it allows the foam to conform to the body reducing all that tension on the pressure points. No pressure points, no stress, no stress, means getting that good nights sleep that we need so badly to be more productive and happy individuals. Mattresses made from memory foam keep the load properly supported, so that no one point is favored over any other. Relaxation is the road to a good nights sleep. And memory foam can help the sleeper achieve the ideal nights rest. While getting tensionless, deep and well relaxed sleep, the individual can produce more and feel great doing it.

What About Your Mattresses?

Do you really need a new mattress. When you arise in the morning does your body ache? Body aches after resting the night on an innerspring mattress is a strong indication that it may be time to start looking for a new mattress. But the signs of a mattress loosing its shape and comfort can be detected sooner.

These simple tests can help you discover if your mattress is still giving you the comfort you need:

Lie on your back and try to slide your hand under the small of your back. If it is very easy and your shoulders and hips are uncomfortable, you may want to consider a new mattress.
Try to roll over. If it is a lot of effort your mattress may be too soft and a new mattress may be a solution for a more comfortable night's sleep, and well rested awakening in the morning.

Another sign of a mattress losing its comfort is when it takes longer to feel rested as you start to sleep later and later. Staying a couple of hours longer in bed can extend the result a poorly performing mattress that wouldn't otherwise be noticed with a shorter or normal sleep period.

Once you have decided that your mattress is no longer giving you the comfort that it should give, the search for a new mattress commences. The quality of a mattress is recognizable by the following:

Quality Mattress Indicators

Durability
Quality materials which are well put together are a sign of durability, but more importantly is the warrantees given which are a sign of how long the factory believes the life expectancy of the mattress is. Depending on the price level of the mattress, warrantees should be for 5 years for promotional priced queen beds ($199 to $599), 10 years for middle of the road quality ($699 to $999), 15 years for premium quality ($1,199 to $2,999) and 20 years for true luxury beds ($3,199 to $12,999).

Softness and Firmness
The required softness or firmness of a mattress is a personal preference and most people know exactly what they want. They either like a softer or harder mattress. Often weight is a consideration when choosing the firmness of a mattress. Large or very heavy adults generally prefer firmer mattresses that provide them with more support. When buying a mattress for a child, remember back problems start as the spinal cord develops, saving money now may cost you in the long run. Children generally like a softer mattress and promotionally priced twin sets have less support and more pressure points than premium priced products.

Warrantee
As mentioned before, the warrantee should be of considerable time, at least 5 years and up-to 20 years for true luxury beds. The duration of the warrantee is just one factor. Most warranties are limited warranties and have body impressions restrictions before the manufacturer will service the product. Very few manufacturers have 100% no questions asked warranties so its very important to read the warranty before you purchase, most manufacturers have web sites with the warranty posted, do not take some ones word for it in a retail store, get it in writing and know your rights, buyer beware. Also look for things like no shipping fees in case of a problem, no repair costs, replacement mattresses for free, etc.

Space
Last but not least, space! Look for the largest mattress your room can hold and you can afford. When sleeping together with your partner, space is not only going to make your nights more comfortable, but may also keep your relationship at a healthy level. In case your buying a mattress for your child, keep in mind that your child will outgrow a short mattress. A 74 inch mattress length may be great now, but ten years from now their feet may be floating in the air.

Once you have purchased your mattress, maintenance is important to make your mattress last as long as specified by the manufacturers guarantee. The following tips are helpful to make your mattress last longer:

Can-Flip Innerspring mattresses should be turned over and rotated monthly.
No-Flip Innerspring mattress should be rotated bi-monthly.
All foam mattresses should be rotated monthly.
Never wet an innerspring or all foam mattresses. Use a vacuum cleaner for regular cleaning.
The handles on a mattress are there for positioning and should not be used to lift or carry the mattress.
Obviously, do not try to fold or bend an innerspring mattress, luxury foam mattresses are bendable.
Sitting on the edge of innerspring or all foam mattresses is not good for its durability. Mattresses are designed to carry the weight of a person lying down and not to support somebody sitting on the edge for long periods of time.
Make sure the mattress is placed on a matching foundation and 5-leg bed frame for queen sizes or larger. All foam mattresses are heaver than traditional innerspring, so foundations are very important, the wrong type will cost you your warranty. A mattress is only as good as its foundation no mater what you spend.

A mattress is the place where you spend about 30% of your lifetime during those moments that comfort is of your highest priority. Knowing the important factors is essential. Children that get a better nights sleep do better in school and are easier to manage. Adults health is mostly determined by the quality of rest they receive especially in high stress work places. Buying online is an excellent way to purchase a new mattress as long as the company offers 100% no non-sense comfort guarantees with no re-stocking and shipping charges.

Major Symptoms of Sinus Infection Problems Kay ZetkinIf you think your colds already lasted four weeks and are not very sure if your condition has developed into a sinus infection, you have to know the classic, common and major symptoms of sinus infection problems in order for you to know fully well what kind of condition you are in. Knowing the symptoms of your sinus infection problem may also help you in applying earlier treatment to prevent full-blown inflammation to your sinuses. By applying the necessary treatment beforehand, you also avoid the effects of sinus infections to your emotional, physical and mental bearing.

The main symptoms of sinusitis are pain and pressure in the face. The location of pain and tenderness depends on which sinus is inflamed. When pain is over the cheek and upper teeth may be caused by the maxillary sinus inflammation. Pain in the forehead above the eyebrow may be triggered by inflammation of the frontal sinus. Once pain is behind the eyes, on top of the head, or in both temples may be brought about by sphenoid sinus inflammation. The inflammation of the ethmoid sinus can be identified by the pain around or behind the eyes.

It is an indication of having sinusitis when increased facial pain and pressure are felt when leaning forward or moving the head.

Other symptoms of sinusitis include: nasal blockage/nasal congestion, nasal drainage (thick and discolored), postnasal drip, low-grade fever, cough that produce mucus, ear fullness/ear clogging. You may also feel headache, tooth pain and reduced sense of taste or smell. Malaise and fatigue are also behavioral symptoms of sinusitis.

Classic symptoms of acute sinusitis are nasal congestion, green nasal phlegm, facial/dental pain, eye pain, headache, and cough at night. Some also complain of fever, feeling ill, bad breath and a sore throat. Chronic sinusitis is more difficult to diagnose. Same symptoms may apply with acute sinusitis but in a milder form. Unless your sinus infection problem has been going on for two months or more, its not usually thought of as chronic since chronic means long-term

A persons medical history and through a physical examination are usually the basis of diagnosing sinusitis. Instead of a physical exam, a detailed history of the problem can be of more value to the diagnosis more often than not. Further exams are not usually needed once the symptoms and physical findings are typical of sinusitis.

Theres also another effective way in preventing symptoms of sinus infection problems. You have to know the particular reason that triggers your sinusitis. Being aware of this will make you prevent coming attacks. But that will be taken up for another story-30-

What happens when your Mattress is flawed?

A quality mattress may be the least appreciated piece of furniture in your house. You would get a good nights sleep, you wake up refreshed and go about your day, all without a thought of the mattress behind it all. Theres no appreciation until the day comes when you sleep on a poor mattress! You ache, you creak, you feel stiff all over, and then its easy to appreciate the value of a good mattress.

There are many aspects to consider in finding a mattress that is just right for you. A mattress needs to provide sufficient support, keeping the spine in alignment and keeping the whole body in its natural curve. Studies show that some people do need more support than others. Also, people sleep better when theyre comfortable, and comfort can mean very soft to some and very firm to others. Comfort is not an exact science. Mattress suppliers actually urge customers to stretch out on a mattress right in the showroom to see if it feels right.

Getting the right size mattress is important, too, so that youre able to stretch out and not feel cramped. If you look at the price tag first, a mattress can seem to be a major expense. The Better Sleep Council advises "Shop for the best value, not the lowest price. Bargain bedding is no bargain when it comes to getting a good nights sleep. Buying the best you can afford is a healthy investment in yourself." A top quality mattress will come with a guarantee to last ten years, and will be well worth what was spent for it.
